Ski Austria - St. Anton am Arlberg
In St Anton, la 1.289m, si-a dezvoltat Hannes Schneider tehnicile moderne de schi si a inceput sa le predea turistilor, inca din anul 1907. Clubul de Schi Arlberg a fost infiintat in 1901, iar in 1911 a avut loc prima competitie Cupa Arlberg-Kandahar. Astazi, scoala de schi de aici este una dintre cele mai mari si cele mai bune scoli din lume, cu aproape 300 de instructori. Oraselul este o statiune compacta, cu cladiri limitate la cinci etaje, iar accesul masinilor este interzis, exceptand saniile si schiurile.
Zapada din aceasta zona este perfecta, la fel si partiile, datorita lipsei copacilor. Zona de schi se intinde pe 60kmp. Partiile de la poale sunt potrivite pentru incepatori, iar pentru experti partiile din varfurile Galzig (2.092m) si Velluga (2.649m). Zona Gampen/Kapall este de nivel mediu si avansat si telefericele incep din spatele garii St Anton. Rendl este o retea de partii relativ noua, pentru incepatori si cei de nivel mediu.
Statiunea are acces la 278 km de partie dintre care 30 km sunt de dificultate grea, 138 km de dificultate medie si 110 km de dificultate usoara. St. Anton are in total 91 de teleferice (16 telecabine, 39 telescaune, 36 teleschiuri).
Sezonul de schi incepe de la data 02.12.2011- 22.04.2012 iar partiile sunt deschise intre orele 08:45 - 16:15.
